University.

As of today I am a registered student!

wow….

I moved into my Manchester Halls on Saturday, and I was actually quite impressed. My room is bigger than I thought (so I may even smuggle the old eleccy drum kit in ;) ) It’s got a nice bathroom too -of course I knew the shower wouldn’t be capable of more than a trickle so I wasn’t too disappointed when it was ‘shower time‘ (say it like MC hammer would and it’s cool…..yeah) but my bathroom light flickers every time you turn it on. I’m not even epileptic but I might as well be.

Haven’t managed to get my internet sorted there yet, because they don’t accept cash to pay (wtf?), and Natwest are knob’eds and have failed a lot at sending me my debit card, hopefully it’ll be up and running tomorrow though -when the parents make a call. Also getting my parking permit tomorrow as well, for an absolute rip off! Psh…

Went out on Saturday night with Will and Mike, spent most of the time at Will’s, then popped to Deansgate Locks for a drink, I didn’t think much to it though. Sunday was spent, being hungover in Ikea and Tesco with my parents, buying the usual studenty things. Monday, I enrolled for my combined honors course, met Mengis there. So we went out for a nice meal on Canal Street -awesome soup and pizza! Think it was called Villagio or something. Tuesday, was some boring lecture, then ended up back at Will’s house resulting in a 2 hour nap. Which was awesome!

Today was Wednesday, which meant I enrolled to MMU, and got my student card. I also got my Sociology and Psychology time table, and met some cool people on my course. I think I might actually have some friends now! I’ve met my flat mates, and well we haven’t exactly clicked. There are two girls -Kate and Katie, and a lad called Christan. They’re all from London, so I feel a bit out of place being a Northerner ! In my own county! Pah. They seem to be more into dance music and girl stuff (yep even the lad -he was sporting a ‘Louie Vatan’ satchel purse the other day), where as I’m not. Today -the girls walked past me and didn’t even acknowledge me. Fortunately, people on my course are cooool -especially Em so far.

Tomorrow, we’re off bowling -organised by the uni, should be loads of fun! Then in the evening my good friend Bell is coming to stay, which should be good! Friday should be a nice lazy day, might go out for coffee, and as for Saturday -Will is back on the drinking scene so we’re going out to Rock Kitchen. Quite the fun packed week compared to normal!

I think I’m growing to like this whole uni thing…

Over taken.

Today was a step up in my driving career.

On my way home, from Preston to Manchester with Will, I was cruising along the M61 in the middle lane, when I spotted something in my wing mirror approaching in the outside lane. It was silver, very sexy, and a Ferrari. As soon as it caught my eye I knew I was going to be in awe at its style and speed. It was a Ferrari after all.

It flew past me, at what was about 100 mph, only to be cut off by some Peugeot over taking in the outside lane. “What is he doing?” I shouted “taking on a Ferrari?!” The Peugeot obviously slowed the Ferrari down, giving the Ferrari the only choice but to weave into the middle lane and under take the Peugeot, by this time I was in the outside lane trying to get a better view of the sex machine.

The Ferrari moved into the middle lane, I um’ed and ah’ed, and then with my foot firmly on my accelerator, I pushed my lil Fiat Punto to the limit, as I very cheekily OVERTOOK the Ferrari.
Yes, I, Louise Bamford, overtook a Ferrari, I deserve a chufty badge, and if you don’t believe me I have proof!

I <3 Mac.

A couple of days ago my ace, generous father, gave me a cheque for a lota dollar (one thousand pound). This he told me was to get myself started at uni, and for me to buy a laptop if I so wished. Of course, I did wish. I wished for a brand new, shiny white MacBook…And that’s what I got!

Considering the cheque hadn’t cleared yet, I fortunately, had opened a student account with Natwest just yesterday, which gave me over a grand overdraft to play with. So my first withdrawal from Natwest was 800 pound to buy me a MacBook.

I picked Will up as usual from Preston, and we drove to Manchester, conveniently Trafford Centre is on the way home, and even more conveniently the Trafford Centre has an Apple Store!

I got myself the mid range MacBook, 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB Memory (will soon upgrade to 2GB), 120 GB Hard drive, DVD writer, built in web cam, etc. Along with a bluetooth, wireless mighty mouse, 2 years warranty, and a case for it. Luckily, being a student has its perks, and I got over 100 pound off my MacBook, 150 quid off my warranty, and like a tenner or something off my mouse. Yay for student discount!

Another one, converted to Mac!
